THE BUSINESS CREDIT UNION is a Financial Co-operative for Savings and Loans Mutually Owned and Run By its Members for its Members
EBCU is a savings and loans co-operative which is run by its members for its members.
EBCU members own shares. These are sometimes referred to as savings.
EBCU is a not for profit organisation which means that at the end of the year any surplus is shared out among the members in the form of a dividend.
Enterprise the Business Credit Union shares premises with Morecambe Bay Credit Union in Morecambe at the Credit Union Centre, a partnership which benefits both Credit Unions.
The members' shareholding creates a pool of money which low cost loans can be made. The interest earned on these loans provides an income which pays for the running of the Credit Union and contributes towards any dividend which is paid out.
